The Washington, D.C. Hub develops and supports projects that address local needs, foster civic engagement, cultivate leadership, and create opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.

Climate Reality Project

Through a partnership with the Climate Reality Project, Global Shapers are empowered to design and implement local climate solutions.

This initiative equips emerging leaders with the tools, resources, and network needed to address climate challenges within their communities while contributing to broader sustainability efforts.

hot meals program

The Hot Meals Program seeks to address food insecurity by providing accessible, culturally appropriate, and freshly prepared meals to individuals and families in need.

By partnering with local organizations and community stakeholders, this initiative supports both immediate needs and long-term community well-being.

Shapers Development Agency

Developed in partnership with the Global Shapers Paris Hub, the Shapers Development Agency is an emerging initiative focused on strengthening collaboration between intercontinental hubs.

Diplomatic Dinner Series

The Diplomatic Dinner Series convenes policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, and civil society representatives for candid, off-the-record discussions on critical international issues, economic cooperation, and global affairs.

These gatherings create opportunities for meaningful dialogue, relationship building, and cross-sector collaboration among current and future leaders.

Past participants and partners have included representatives from:

  • The Kingdom of the Netherlands

  • The Organization of American States

  • International organizations, embassies, and policy institutions throughout Washington, D.C.

SHRED the debt

Shred the Debt is a targeted initiative focused on eliminating medical debt for vulnerable households and reducing financial barriers to health and economic security.

Working alongside community partners, the initiative purchases and abolishes qualifying medical debt at scale, creating tangible relief for families facing financial hardship.

Impact to date includes:

  • $52,000+ in medical debt abolished

  • 21 households supported
